NEXT LEVEL TECHNOLOGIES FOR ASEAN’S MEDICAL DEVICES ECOSYSTEM

Malaysia will host a dedicated event to harness the huge opportunities in the medical technology marketplace to meet growing demand for quality healthcare and medical services in the region. In addition, the region looks set to become a major manufacturing hub for the production of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

To spearhead Malaysia’s initiative in developing the country’s ecosystem as a hub for the introduction and production of new medical devices and technology, ASIAN MEDTEC ’24 – the International Medical Technology and Pharmaceuticals Production and Supplies Exhibition and Conference will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 10-12 December 2024. This event will showcase the latest in medical technology, E-health, diagnostics and diagnostics imaging, laboratory and testing equipment and physiotherapy equipment and will feature a medical manufacturing equipment and supplies zone.

ASIAN MEDTEC ’24 is where the medical and healthcare community in the region gathers to sources for the latest innovations for next level medical technology and medical manufacturing solutions. Make an impact at ASIAN MEDTEC ’24, book your booth now at secretariat@asianmedtec.com

MALAYSIA – THE CENTRE FOR MEDICAL DEVICES INNOVATIONS

MALAYSIA is chosen as the host venue of ASIAN MEDTEC ’24 as the Government has shown strong commitment to building a sustainable eco-system for the development and manufacturing of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. In addition, Malaysia boasts of a vibrant private and public healthcare sector that is world class.

The New Industrial Master Plan 2030 ( NIMP 2030) has identified the medical devices sector as a priority to be enhanced for future growth in a higher range of product segments

The country imports 95% of its medical devices. As for market performance, revenue from medical devices is projected to reach $3.27 Billion by-end 2023

The NIMP 2030 leverages the synergies between the M&E sector and the medical devices sector to create advanced inspection solutions for imaging and endoscopy, implantable devices, and minimally invasive surgical tools.

As with the pharmaceuticals sector, the NIMP 2030 plan calls for medical devices companies to embrace collaboration within its ecosystem for knowledge sharing, R&D, as well as standards compliance.

Effective diversification of product manufacturing in the medical devices sector, including the creation of technological items that require rich and deep know-how, will enhance the nation’s strategic competitive positioning.
